Interesting interview...thanks bd...Hunter writing for Billy and Papa Mali sounds intriguing...
'I think of a song and I think about, “God, what's that song saying, what do the words in that song mean?” and I really go for that, I go for the poetry of the song even more'
...never imagined I'd hear Bill say that...I usually skip his interviews...looks like I've been short-changing myself...will pay more attention in future

I listened to it at a friends last weekend. Difficult to work out Hunter's contribution on first hearing. As usual Dylan's voice sounds best on the world-weary songs. I haven't bought a new release by Dylan (excluding 'Bootleg Series) since Desire, and I don't feel an urgent need to own this one. Shouldn't he be doing a show with Dead as part of the current tour for old times sake ?

Rolling Stone new issue has cover story on Dylan - very interesting interview with him. Lots of talk about Hunter in that as well as his love of Doug Sahm, Chuck Berry and travelling to see Carl Sandburg in NC in the last years of his life. Also about going to see Neil Young's house where he grew up just to get a feel for what Neil saw as a kid and how much he respects Neil. Very good piece on him.
